Q. 01.  I'm apprehensive about having an astrological consultation because of what I might be told.  If I learn something negative, I'll probably dwell on it or become very self-conscious. I'm afraid I might have a "bad" chart.

A. Having interpreted hundreds of charts, I can say with a great deal of certainty that I have never come across one that is inherently "good" or "bad". Look at your life circumstances. You are living your astrology. It's quite a broad spectrum of stimulus, experience and opportunity. There is joy, ease and grace as well as challenge and difficulty. Identifying the aspects of our lives that need attention and healing is the first part of transforming them. The so-called "good" and "bad" are intertwined and interdependent in every case. My perspective and approach includes embracing both our “light” and “dark” sides while neutralizing the tendency to judge things in terms of good and bad. Those things which we have not yet fully brought into consciousness (our dark side) are actually portals to our freedom and joy. Objectively encountering this accelerates our transformation and growth through the study of our personal astrology.

Q. 02.  I've been to astrologers before who predicted things that didn't come true.  How can I know that you're accurate?

A. Looking for answers about the future as a way of avoiding suffering in the present is as old as humanity itself. Unfortunately, this attitude usually contributes to a lack of personal empowerment. I am empowered to identify and describe the various forces that are acting upon you at any given time. We will explore the attitude and magnitude of these forces. This is further investigated by describing the environments in which these forces will display and express themselves as well as the manner in which they will be presented.  Finally, the timing or duration of each lesson will be determined or explained.
That's a lot of information that can guide and empower you that won't undermine the joy of trusting and utilizing your own awareness, intuition and will to consciously create your present and your future.

Q. 03.  I know people who were born on the same day, in the same city and at nearly the same time. How can they be so different from each other?

A. This is a good question which helps me clarify how any astrological configuration can play out in a number of ways. In the older systems of "this equals this" astrology, the two people in question would, in theory, have to be the same or at least, very similar. We evolve our relationships with the cosmic forces that are articulated through astrology and develop ourselves through the various "higher and lower" aspects of each. We can also choose to resist these forces or the lessons around them. Therefore, the free will and choice of the individual always prevails. The development of identical charts has an infinite number of possible outcomes even though the raw materials are the same. Your chart describes opportunities to evolve and integrate very specific things. The two charts in question have significant similarities in this respect alone. To what degree your development is reflected in your astrology depends upon how much you've been "showing up for class, paying attention and passing tests". No two people do this the same way, even twins and others who share identical charts. Your personal karma as well as your ability to intervene with and alter this karma influences how the astrology chart will be realized.

Q. 04.  Can you tell me if I will find my soul mate or if I'm destined to be alone in later life?

A. I stand the chance of bursting a lot of bubbles by saying this but, whoever you find yourself in relationship with is your soul mate. And you may have many. Thinking that there is only one person whom you are destined to be with speaks of a desire to be free of the burden of shifting your consciousness through a lot of experimentation and yes, the myriad of sometimes painful lessons that relationships bring...and perhaps to be insulated from the possibility of any further emotional loss. It also suggests that there might be an elusive "perfect person" out there for you somewhere.

This doesn't mean that you cannot find a "life partner" and sustain the relationship indefinitely. But, as an example, being with a challenging individual can help us develop our ability to choose using more awareness or different criteria. If we learn this while with them then that individual helped us with an important soul lesson. The more we claim our projections in another, the more we will stop relying upon someone else to make our world functional, consistent, safe and pleasant.

We can explore, in great depth, your relationship life and all of your personal tendencies, possibilities and even the qualities of who you might want to meet. I can help you get clear about who you are "wired" to attract and places to look that you probably haven't considered before. The timing piece of astrology is of critical importance here as well. We can also explore whether you've been “shopping in the right store” or not. When we look back on our history of intimacy we usually discover that our relationships primarily facilitated us becoming more conscious. Seeking the ever-elusive happiness and security through relationship can shift to a more enduring joy that is the outcome of establishing a very high reverence for every relationship we find ourselves in. As we learn to trust our ability to encounter and manage all relationships, we also reclaim our personal projections onto others and improve our ability to be intimate firstly, with ourselves which, in turn, enhances the quality of all intimacy in our lives.

Q. 05.  Can you tell me if I'm in the right profession? Am I doing what I should be doing?

A.  Yes. This can include many options that may or may not involve your "deeper" purpose in life. We often begin by looking at what you are currently doing to see what needs to be addressed in order for you to have true fulfillment and the abundance that springs forth from doing what it is that you most highly resonate with or are the most passionate about.

Q. 06.  Money always seems to be such a struggle.  Is it possible for someone with my chart to finally be at ease with finances?

A. Most of our lessons transcend one lifetime. We may spend many lives experiencing great wealth or conversely, dismal poverty in order to learn about both sides of what prosperity and abundance are. To know freedom, we must also know bondage. Each person’s karma around abundance and prosperity is different. Relative to this, I see no limitations around what can change or manifest for any individual. There are innumerable examples of people dramatically changing their relationship and reality with abundance over the course of both shorter and longer periods of time. We can fine tune the specifics that create this type of change and bring a fuller awareness to all the various aspects that contribute to one’s financial reality. Most of us utilize powerfully reinforced habit patterns, especially where money is concerned. I can help you to explore the gifts that are lying latent in your chart that apply to material wealth and prosperity. Beyond this, everyone has areas of good fortune and positive possibility that they may or may not be aware of. I can help you to identify these.

Q. 07.  Can you tell me what my spiritual purpose is for this lifetime?

A. It is important that we live our lives with the knowledge and reverence that everything we do has spiritual value and significance…that our lives are infused with spiritual purpose and that everything is sacred. Some of us wish to make greater contact with a specific orientation that we feel is “spiritual” or can be considered a spiritual calling. Your chart does reveal the general nature of what this is. But first look around your physical, three-dimensional reality. Spirit animates it all. Part of our spiritual awakening includes accepting and working with the limitations of the physical plane. Anchoring who you are - your Light - in matter, is a profoundly spiritual exercise.

Q. 08.  I've always had health problems. Is there anything I can do to change this or does my astrology suggest this will always be the case?

A. It is obvious that certain individuals have more robust physical constitutions than others. Our physical challenges are very specifically related to our personal karma and so become the path to greater physical and spiritual health. It can be one of our toughest life lessons to which we must commit ourselves. Difficulties that are defined in our birth chart slowly shift and diminish over time. Our astrology helps to identify the changes that can free us from the deep imprinting that suggests that we must always suffer health challenges. I have found that those clients that allow themselves to identify with and practice the gradual changes expressed in their (progressed) astrology make the most rapid and enduring recoveries. With certain obvious exceptions, eventually we can give up the belief that we will always be bound to suffer in any particular way. Beyond this, access to new tools and healing opportunities can be identified and suggested. I can provide an extensive list of modalities and practitioners that can help you move beyond any short or long term health challenge.

Q. 09.  I've listened to a lot of astrologers and astrology columnists talk about my (sun) sign.  Though some of what they say sounds accurate, the picture they paint doesn't seem to reflect my personal complexity or depth. Why is this?

A. This is the outcome of over-identifying with one’s sun sign which is a significant but ultimately small piece of your astrological make up. Sun-sign based astrology unfortunately represents what most people understand astrology to be. In reality, the more personal aspects of your identity are much more complex and are revealed through exploring your rising sign (the ascendant) and moon sign. But we would be remiss to exclude Mercury, Venus and Mars as being equally important. An accurate evaluation should include all of the “personal planets” but also how all these forces combine or aspect (affect) each other. The “outer” planets have an effect on one’s astrological constitution as well but more represent shared group energy, major life lessons and transitions as well as transpersonal and soul work. Over-simplified and formulaic sun-sign based astrology rarely hits the mark…and never consistently. You are not your sun sign. In truth, you aren’t even your chart. (please see 3 above).

Q. 10.  I always seem to end up in relationships that eventually end in conflict and despair. Is there something in my chart that indicates that this is an inescapable reality?  Should I investigate a person's astrology before getting involved with them too deeply? Are there "good" and "bad" matches?

A. There is nothing in an individual’s astrology chart that would ever condemn their relationship life in this way. There are, most certainly, matches that bring more or less challenges with them. This depends on a number of things, some of which go beyond the scope of astrology. There are astrological placements and configurations that can indicate a higher level of potential stress in intimacy but there would also be the prompting and the tools to overcome and resolve this.

It’s important to accept and surrender to the fact that you are naturally drawn to certain individuals. Without exception, there is a reason for forging a connection with them. But strong, compelling attractions can often have us short-circuit our evaluation process and we may fail to approach a new bond with an appropriate development of personal boundaries. Romance is powerfully seductive. It can draw us into intimacy that may or may not seem “healthy” in the long run.

I do not believe that there are any astrological placements that only create struggle for a person in intimacy. In fact, your astrology points more to conditions that may challenge an individual to encounter the struggles and move beyond them with awareness into more satisfying connections and mutually loving bonds.
Conflict and despair are symptoms of dynamics and deeper issues that both people in a relationship contribute to. They will continue to be issues until the underlying energies are dealt with and brought into consciousness. In this, there is potential for important, powerful growth and awareness. If both partners are willing, a lot can be gained by staying together and working through these things. Beyond this, the “synastry” between two people’s charts (chart comparison) can tell us a lot about what might flow nicely and what may cause some areas of friction and challenge.

Some friction is necessary to create attraction and sexual charge. There are astrological contacts that indicate such tension and others that identify natural cooperation and ease. Yet others may require balancing and compromise. In this sense you can take an inside peek at what you may be signing up for. But most people go where the energy is and respond to who they are attracted to. I encourage everyone to do this as consciously as possible.

Astrology is a precision tool that can assist us in identifying what each person is bringing to the table. It can help us work through the challenges that relationships seem to bring up and, more importantly, promote an awareness of what we are personally creating that may be contributing to any relationship challenge…and every relationship has them. Ultimately, one can’t really make a “bad” relationship choice as every person will bring to you that which reflects something we need to look at and heal. The lens of astrology can be very powerful in providing us with tools that can enable us to evaluate relationship dynamics, sustain functionality in our relationships and also say “no” to those relationships that will never be functional.

Q. 11.  Can you tell me things about myself and my potential for which I presently have no awareness?

A. Yes. I believe that your astrology chart contains coded information about every aspect of who you are, seen and unseen. There’s always something new to look at or uncover. If you had complete clarity about yourself, life wouldn’t be the exploration it is. The blueprint of your natal chart can be an intensely exciting guide to the joyful discovery of who you are. From the most obvious awareness to secret personal nuances that seem buried or hidden, it’s all there. I am guided to reveal these things at a time and at a pace that corresponds to your ability to receive, assimilate and act upon them, so the information is calibrated to your rate of growth. Even the more challenging features can be expressed and encountered with a vital curiosity that makes the process fun and exciting rather than frightful and perilous.

Q. 12.  Can I use astrology to time certain events in my life?  Are there better times to do things than others?

A. Absolutely. One of astrology’s greatest assets is that of being able to determine appropriate timing. From understanding the duration of broader, more long term life lessons to gaining insight into initiating daily life considerations, astrology’s precision and specificity is without peer. The energy around any event carries with it the significance of a birth chart that can be organized and evaluated into the future. Starting projects, signing contracts, leaving on journeys or trips, getting married, scheduling medical procedures, starting school or a new job, even having a child can all benefit from the guidance gained from concise astrological timing. In fact, a lot of astrologers believe that it is “all about timing”. It is the one aspect of astrology that I would recommend for everyone.

Q. 13.  I've observed that most challenges and struggles in my life arrive and depart seemingly on their own accord and have less to do with whether or not I have learned the lesson completely.  Is there an astrological explanation for this?

A. This relates closely to the previous question. The planets all move at different rates and possess unique qualities that bring corresponding challenges, lessons and opportunities with them. As each transiting planet aspects (has an effect) on the natal placements in your birth chart and as they move through the various houses, there is irresistible natural timing that will apply to each. As these transits progress and the forces intensify, there are opportunities to integrate new information through experiences that clarify the energy, make changes and shift realities. The pressure (or grace) of a particular planetary force doesn’t leave a specific stage until it moves into another or aspects another natal planet or point. Of course, there are many of these significant occurrences happening at the same time. We can look at them all and how they are affecting each other or we can look at each one separately, exploring it in depth. Even when the timing of a significant transit has passed, we have other opportunities to experience another level of the same lesson when the planet returns through the period of another cycle or when the same planet makes a different aspect at some point further along the time axis.

Q. 14.  Does my astrology chart reveal the issues I may have with my family?

A. It does. It can also help describe karmic lessons that are expressed through your family of origin issues. One’s mother, father, siblings and children have specific astrological identities that can be seen and assessed when doing personal growth work. In many ways, astrology is a language that encompasses most every aspect of your existence. By definition, it includes the family of origin imprinting. By analyzing the charts of family members in relation to each other, profound and pivotal revelations are common. We all spend significant time unraveling family dynamics in an attempt to heal and empower ourselves. In this regard, astrology is a very powerful tool that can go well beyond the scope of psychological analysis and evaluation.

Q. 15.  Can you tell me anything about my past lives and my karma?

A. Yes. Your past lives and karma are playing out through your present life (astrology) to the greatest extent. Specifically, I can help to identify your “default system” that has been developed over many lifetimes. All of our strengths, aptitudes and inclinations extend from our past life material. The karmic piece is that which we need to heal. It is a powerful overlay that tries to reproduce itself in this lifetime. We have the opportunity to intervene with this feature of our reality that has yet to be brought into consciousness. Your astrology points towards what this is and what can be done to balance and heal the karma created in previous lives.
